Paul George

President

Paul is a lifelong resident of Lafayette, LA.  He spent four years at LSU in Baton Rouge studying Mechanical Engineering during the late ’70’s.  He returned to Lafayette and worked in the family business while finishing his college degree.  Paul graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (presently ULL) with a degree from the College of General Studies.

Paul has been married to Jo Lynne Sedita of Baton Rouge for 36 years and together have two grown children.

Paul worked in the family business (AGI Industries formally Al George, Inc.) beginning at the age of 11.  While in college, he spent holidays and semester breaks working at AGI as a mechanic in the hydraulic and pump repair department.  During this time, Paul spent one semester working for an independent oil & gas company as a roughneck and roustabout.  After leaving LSU in 1980, Paul continued as a mechanic until 1982 where he moved into inside sales and project quoting.  In 1985, Paul began his career with Sidewinder Pumps, Inc. becoming the Production Coordinator.  Upon the separation of AGI Industries and Sidewinder Pumps, Inc., Paul became the General Manager and Vice President of Sidewinder Pumps, Inc.  

In 2010, Paul and his brother David bought Sidewinder Pumps, Inc. from their family at which time Paul became President of the corporation.

As President of Sidewinder Pumps, Inc., Paul oversees design and engineering concerns including new product development.  He also handles the finances of the business.

General Manager/Marketing/Sales

Guy joined Sidewinder Pumps, Inc. in April of 2003.

As General Manager of Sidewinder Pumps, Inc., Guy handles the day to day operations, including sales (working with distributors), marketing, oversees website design, literature design, shop floor production scheduling, quoting and Sidewinder’s growing international market.

He has experience in machining injection molds, blow molds, and lost wax investment casting mold.  He also did job shop production runs.

Guy grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School and took courses in computer science at San Jacinto Jr. College.

Guy began working at the age of 12 in his father’s Wholesale Produce Business and worked there until his early 20’s. 

He took Auto Mechanics for two years in high school through the V.I.C.A. program, worked as an automotive mechanic and drag raced.

He worked at Reed Pump parts starting as a shipping receiving clerk, and was promoted to production line scheduling, inventory management and Factory Warehouse Supply manager. He studied A.P.I.C.S. inventory control and shop floor scheduling methods.

Guy then went back to mechanics working on Cabot Franks drilling units, specializing in air systems, hydraulic systems and drive train/gear boxes.

Guy moved to Austin, TX and worked as a machinist on J-head mill and engine lathe in a small production shop, JB Machining. He has experience machining molds for injection molding, blow molding and lost wax investment molds.

He then went to work for Texas Tool and Fastener selling tools and fasteners used by the various trades on commercial buildings. He developed two new territories and one new product line. He was a member of the Salesman Advisory council (top 5 salesman out of 30), for 5 years.  He completed XEROX PSS III Sales Training.

He then sold SPECTRA PHYSICS Lasers for alignment applications in agriculture, building trades and industrial applications. Studied Counselor Selling Methods.

Guy went to work for AGI Industries, a multifaceted pump supplier and fabricator, selling packaged pump systems for offshore production platforms specializing in chemical injection skids. During his tenor he was promoted to regional manager, then marketing director. He spent 8 years with AGI.

He became part of the Sidewinder team in 2003, starting out in sales, moved into management and became general manager – touching all aspects of the company operation.
