Solar Power is quick becoming the preferred power source to operate chemical metering pumps. Solar powered chemicals pumps are being used for Methanol injection, corrosion inhibitor injection and other chemical applications.
Solar powered injection pumps utilize solar panels ranging from 85 Watts to 150 Watts, depending on the energy requirements of the solar powered pump.The solar panels provide power during the day to operate the solar powered pump and to charge the batteries used for non-daylight operation.
The solar powered metering pump alternates between the energy developed by the solar panel during day light hours and pulling energy from batteries at night or during low periods of sunlight.
SidewinderPumps is developing a solar powered metering pump utilizing the latest in technology to make the solar powered injection pump as energy efficient as possible. This will result in lower cost in solar panel and battery requirements.
